The Amsterdam-based skate company first gig in the skate biz was as the distributor of Palace Skateboards. As Palace moved to a direct-to-consumer model and canned its distribution, founders Peter Kolks and Ric Van Rest decided to start Pop Trading Company. The name is based on an inside joke taking the Pop (skateboard snapping on the ground awhere a brand new board means fresh / better pop) as the element of trade.
